Takuya Nakamura
The only Japanese artist on the lineup, Takuya Nakamura is a multi-instrumentalist based in New York. He blends jazz training with jungle and drum & bass production, creating a distinctive sound that’s earned him sets alongside legends like Goldie, Photek, and Fabio & Grooverider.
Nakamura’s live performances combine electronic production with improvised instrumentation, bringing an organic element to the typically sample-driven world of jungle. His appearance at Signal Festival marks a rare opportunity to see him perform in the UK alongside the artists who shaped the genre.

Why Go?
This lineup is essentially a living history of UK bass music. Goldie, Dillinja, Fabio & Grooverider, Photek, Doc Scott, DJ Storm — these are the artists who created and defined drum & bass and jungle in the 1990s.
For fans of the genre, seeing them all on one bill is rare. Add in next-generation talent like Benny L, GLXY, and Halogenix alongside dubstep pioneers Loefah and Coki, and you have a comprehensive overview of UK bass culture past and present.
Takuya Nakamura’s inclusion highlights how the sound has spread globally while maintaining its UK roots.
