留守るすの間あいだに

ケンタは会社員かいしゃいんで、犬いぬのモモといっしょに住すんでいる。Kenta is an office worker, and he lives with his dog, Momo.ケンタが会社かいしゃに行っている間、モモは一人ひとりで留守番るすばんをしている。While Kenta is at work, Momo stays home alone.最近さいきん、ケンタには一ひとつ気きになることがあった。Recently, something had been bothering Kenta.帰かえってくると、ソファーのクッションがいつも床ゆかに落おちているのだ。Whenever he came home, the sofa cushions were always on the floor.

「モモは、ぼくがいない間、何なにをしているんだろう。」"I wonder what Momo gets up to while I'm out."ケンタは小ちいさいカメラを買かって、部屋へやに置おいた。Kenta bought a small camera and put it in the room.

次つぎの日ひ、ケンタは昼休みの間に、スマホでカメラをチェックした。The next day, during his lunch break, Kenta checked the camera on his phone.モモはソファーの上うえで、気持きもちよさそうに寝ねていた。Momo was sleeping comfortably on the sofa.「なんだ、寝ねているだけか。」"Oh, she's only sleeping."

でも、夕方ゆうがたもう一度いちど見みて、ケンタはびっくりした。But when he looked again in the late afternoon, Kenta was amazed.少すこし開あいていた窓まどから、となりの家いえのねこが入はいってきたのだ。The cat from next door had come in through the window, which was open a little.ねこはクッションを全部床ぜんぶゆかに落おとして、モモの横よこに座すわった。The cat knocked all the cushions onto the floor and sat down next to Momo.それから二匹にひきはくっついて、いっしょに寝始ねはじめた。Then the two of them curled up together and went to sleep.

その夜よる、ケンタはクッションを片付かたづけながら笑わらった。That night, Kenta laughed as he tidied up the cushions.「モモ、ぼくが仕事しごとをしている間に、友達ともだちができたんだね。」"Momo, you made a friend while I was at work, didn't you?"モモはうれしそうにしっぽを振ふった。Momo wagged her tail happily.
