父ちちの予定表よていひょう

みゆきの父ちちの誠まことは、何なにでもあらかじめ決めておく。Miyuki's father, Makoto, decides everything in advance.旅行りょこうの一いっか月前げつまえには、電車でんしゃも宿やども店みせも予約よやくが終おわっている。A month before a trip, the trains, the hotel and the restaurants are all booked.「そこまでしなくても」と、みゆきはいつも思おもっていた。"You really don't need to go that far," Miyuki always thought.今年ことしの秋あき、家族三人かぞくさんにんで温泉おんせんに行いくことになった。This autumn, the three of them were to go to a hot spring together.

出発しゅっぱつの前まえの週しゅう、誠まことはいつもの紙かみの予定表よていひょうを渡わたした。The week before they left, Makoto handed out his usual paper timetable.一日目いちにちめは九時くじの電車でんしゃ、十一時じゅういちじに美術館びじゅつかん、一時いちじに昼食ちゅうしょく。Day one: the nine o'clock train, the art museum at eleven, lunch at one.「旅行りょこうは、その場ばで決きめるほうが楽たのしいんじゃない。」"Isn't a trip more fun if you decide things as you go?"

一日目いちにちめは、朝あさから雨あめだった。It rained from early on the first morning.それでも、あらかじめ予約してあったので、美術館びじゅつかんには並ならばずに入いれた。Even so, because he had booked in advance, they got into the museum without queueing.母ははは「こういうときのために調しらべておくのよ」と言いった。Her mother said, "He looks all this up for times like these."

二日目ふつかめも雨あめだった。It rained on the second day as well.予定よていしていた山やまの道みちは、危あぶないので通とおれなくなった。The mountain path they had planned to walk was closed because it was dangerous.誠まことは駅えきで地図ちずを広ひろげ、困こまった顔かおをした。Makoto spread out a map at the station and looked at a loss.「空あいた時間について、何なにも考かんがえていなかったな。」"I hadn't given a thought to this free time."みゆきが調しらべると、歩あるいて五分ごぶんのところに小ちいさな足湯あしゆがあった。Miyuki looked it up and found a small foot bath a five-minute walk away.

三人さんにんは靴下くつしたを脱ぬいで、温あたたかい湯ゆに足あしを入いれた。The three of them took off their socks and put their feet into the warm water.雨あめの音おとを聞ききながら、一時間いちじかんも話はなしをした。Listening to the sound of the rain, they talked for a whole hour.父ちちが子こどものころの旅行について、みゆきは初はじめて聞きいた。For the first time, Miyuki heard about the trips her father took as a child.「予定表よていひょうを作つくるのは、家族かぞくを待またせたくないからだよ。」"The reason I make a timetable is that I don't want to keep the family waiting."

家いえに帰かえってから、みゆきは次つぎの旅行りょこうを計画けいかくしてみた。After they got home, Miyuki tried planning the next trip herself.あらかじめ調べてみると、思おもったより時間じかんがかかった。When she started looking things up in advance, it took far longer than she expected.店みせに電話でんわをして、「六時ろくじごろになるかと思います」と伝つたえた。She rang the restaurant and told them, "We will be there at around six, I think."電話でんわを切きると、父ちちが横よこで小ちいさくうなずいていた。When she put the phone down, her father was nodding quietly beside her.「今度こんどは、私わたしが予定表よていひょうを作つくるね。」"Next time, I'll be the one making the timetable."
