駅えきまでの近道ちかみち

アンナは日本にほんに来きて半年はんとしになる。Anna has been in Japan for six months now.ある朝あさ、駅えきへ行いく道みちで大おおきな工事こうじをしていた。One morning, there were major roadworks on the way to the station.いつもの道みちが通とおれない。Her usual route was closed.急いそいでいたので、近ちかくのパン屋やの人ひとに聞きいてみた。She was in a hurry, so she asked someone at the nearby bakery.「すみません、駅えきへはどう行けばいいですか。」"Excuse me, how do I get to the station?"

おばさんは外そとに出でて、指ゆびをさした。The woman came outside and pointed.「この角かどを右みぎに曲がれば、細ほそい道みちがありますよ。」"If you turn right at this corner, there's a narrow lane."「まっすぐ歩けば、十分じゅっぷんで駅えきに着つきます。」"Walk straight along it and you'll reach the station in ten minutes."アンナはお礼れいを言いって、細ほそい道みちに入はいった。Anna thanked her and turned into the narrow lane.

道みちの両側りょうがわに、小ちいさい庭にわがならんでいた。Small gardens lined both sides of the lane.花はなが咲さいていて、ねこが日ひなたで寝ねていた。Flowers were in bloom, and a cat was asleep in the sun.写真しゃしんをとっていて、気きがつくと電車でんしゃは行いってしまった。She was busy taking photographs, and by the time she noticed, her train had gone.

次つぎの朝あさ、アンナは写真しゃしんをとるために、いつもより早はやく家いえを出でた。The next morning, Anna left home earlier than usual so that she could take photographs.急げば、大おおきい道みちのほうがずっと速はやい。If you are in a hurry, the main road is far quicker.でも、アンナはこの道みちが好すきになっていた。But Anna had grown fond of this lane.

一週間後いっしゅうかんごに工事こうじが終おわったが、アンナは今いまも細ほそい道みちを歩あるいている。The roadworks finished a week later, but Anna still walks down the narrow lane.ねこが道みちで寝ていることもあるが、アンナは急いそがない。Sometimes a cat is asleep in the road, but Anna is in no hurry.パン屋やの前まえを通とおると、おばさんが手てを振ふってくれる。When she passes the bakery, the woman waves to her.「近道ちかみち、まだ使つかってる？」"Still using the shortcut?"「はい。でも、ぜんぜん近ちかくないですよ。」"Yes. Though it isn't short at all."
